Founded in 1924

FC Pelister was founded in 1924, initially under the name “Omladina”, after which it was changed to “Pelister” and later to “SK Bitola”. After his liberation in 1945, he reappeared under the old name “Pelister”, after which he was in 1946 champion in the Bitola Fitness District. In the same year he merged with the FC Rabotnik, but kept the name Pelister. Georgievski, Dimitrovski, V. Micevski, T. Petrovski, Naumovski, Lazarevsky, Sekerdzievski, Avramovski, Nestorov and Eftimovski are among the best-known players of the period.

Pelister rose in the 1974/75 season for the first time in its history in the second Yugoslav football league. For a long time Pelister did not stay in the second league, but returned in 1982 when the club was led by Mitko Butlevski and coach Ivan Jabrinovic. Before the collapse of Yugoslavia Pelister also played in the First Bundesliga. After the independence of the Republic of Macedonia Pelister played continuously until the 2002/2003 season in the first Macedonian football league, as the club retired from the highest competition in Macedonia. Pelister has not won a championship title, but in 2001 won a Macedonian cup title. In the following season he played in the UEFA Cup, but managed the first hurdle and defeated the Swiss Team St. Gallen 4: 3.
